A Lecture by Malcolm Hodges, Director of Stewardship for The Nature Conservancy in Georgia
Throughout history, fire has played a key role in shaping the natural landscapes of Georgia, and today, prescribed fire is an important tool used by land managers to create healthy forests in the Chattahoochee Valley and across the South. Join us for a program which reveals why ‘fire in the forest’ is important locally and addresses your questions about this complex topic.
A related field trip on fire in the forest will be offered on February 15 to a limited number of participants.
